Gary and I went to Palm Beach this past weekend to spend time with my parents. It was nice to see mom up and about - full of energy. She has some cute hats as she is very self conscious about her lack of hair. Dad had his stent inserted and was pretty tired. We thought it was his medication.
I just got the following email from my dad... I'll share some happy news!
To all my good friends and family members today was a very exciting day in some ways. Naomi went for chemotherapy this morning and was told by her oncologist that the results of her CT scan last Friday came back and the Dr. was very pleased of the results. All vital signs looked good and cancer had shrunk considerably. We were so excited and thrilled to hear some good news for a change. She also rec'd a flu shot. The Dr. decided to have a port inserted for future treatments because it is safer and easier for her to shower and swim if she wants to!!!!!. It also only needs to be flushed once every 6 weeks verses every week with picc line. It will be implanted in her chest area in the hospital as an outpatient procedure. We don't know the exact time until probably tomorrow. The doctor said she will still probably need at least 3 or 4 more sessions for now but we will see.
As most of you know i had a heart cath and stent inserted last Wed due to a 90% blockage of one of my arteries. This will delay my other surgeries for probably 5 to 6 weeks since i am taking Plavix and aspirin for one month to keep the stent clean. I feel pretty good and hope Naomi and I will have many good years to spend with every one. Thanks especially to Cantor Joe Birnholz who lives in our community. His prayers seem to be working.
