Mom sent me a photo of herself in her new wig. Doesn't she look GREAT! Kind of sassy if you ask me!
Hopefully, mom will need only one more treatment (November 3rd) which of course depends on the results of her next ct scan (Oct 20th) which also is their 52nd wedding anniversary!!!!!!!
Dad told me that she is wiped out today following her chemo treatment and sleepng a lot. This treatment was tough for her compared to the previous procedures but the Dr. said she looks ok and all vital signs are good. She had some nausea and abdominal swelling but it is probably due to the drugs.
My dad had a biopsy last week and went to urologist this morning. He is starting a new treatment in 2 weeks for his bladder. It is a series of 6 treatments (one a week) starting Oct 30th. Then a follow up series of 5 treatments over 24 months. The Urologist is sending my dad to another Urologist in Miami on Oct 28th for a 2nd opinion.
Hopefully, this new treatment called "BCG" will work and get rid of the bladder cancerous tumors. He will still need surgery to remove his left kidney and ureter. From what dad tells me, the bladder problem must be treated before any other surgery can be performed. If treatment of bladder doesn't work he will need all 3 organs removed. That will be the worst case scenario.
