Dad

Sigh...so much has been going on once again.

Dad was scheduled to have his cancer surgery today. Yesterday he went to the hospital to do his pre-surgical paperwork and found out that he needed a CT Scan prior to the surgery. Good thing he had checked his home phone from the doctors office or he would never have known. This set him off and let me tell you...he is NOT the most patient man in the world.

So he went for his CT Scan and the nurse told him to wait for the results. He hadn't had lunch yet and he was pretty darn hungry (which equates to very cranky- stress on the very part). Finally he was told that the surgery would be cancelled as the doctor saw something on the scan they didn't like. Instead of waiting to talk to the doctor he stormed out of the office and went over to Wendy's to feast on a ton of unhealthy food (he is a huge eater). He was MAD...mad that no one has told him he would need the CT scan in advance...mad is an understatement. Roll hunger, fear, frustration, anxiety, being alone (his choice) and missing my mom into that turned into a huge rant. The rant continued until 9pm when I just couldn't listen to him any longer and went to bed. Trying to get him to calm down was exhausting.

So today, he will go to the doctors office to find out what they are concerned about and what tests he will need now.

I am worried about dad...very worried. He has had cancer for a long time now...since mom got sick and through her treatments and ultimately losing her. He is not in any pain but scared. You can't blame him for that...it is scary. He talks about thinking it would be better for everyone if he was gone and no one had to worry. God bless him...
