It is 5:47 am... we will be heading to the hospital in a bit as we have a 7:30 am arrival time scheduled. Dad was pretty sick last night from the medicines to clean him out as well as the abundance of antibiotics he had to take. Poor guy.
He is scheduled for a 9:00 am surgery which the doctors anticipate lasting for 4 hours. Laproscopic surgery to remove his kidney and ureter due to a malignancy. Of course they will try to find the mysterious lymph node that appeared on the ct scan (but not on the pet scan). If they find it and it is cancerous (biopsy during surgery) they will close him up and we will deal with the future. If they can't find it or after biopsy it turns out to be non-cancerous they will continue on.
It's been a long year between dad being sick and mom losing her battle to cancer.
