RIP... Dobber

This past Saturday, we lost our friend "Dobber", unexpectantly. He had developed a perferated ulcer which required surgery. He suffered from rheumatoid arthritis for many years but always took care of others. Who would have thought that his life would spiral out of control? The phone call that he has passed away came Saturday.

He was a very best friend of my husbands for over 30 years. He was one of the "Dudes". Gary, George, Matt (albeit not around for the past few years) and Dobber. The Dobber (aka Bob) never was married but kept his family close and dear. He was the soul caretaker of his mom who had developed Alzheimers years ago. Dobber was one of those nice guys who loved deeply.

He loved to cook and LOVED to cook for the other Dudes - especially at Christmas.
The dudes celebrated Christmas every year. Everyone would bring a side but the Dobber would be out bbq'ing in subzero temps. Had to cook his Chateau with zip sauce.
The Dobber was a crazy Detroit Red Wings fan. He lived for hockey season. Get him going and he would tell you stories about hockey for hours.
Yes, we girls thought he was quite a guy too! Here we were helping him celebrate his 50th...just 5 years ago.

We are going to miss this sweet, loving friend... so much. We raise a beer in honor of you Dob!!
